I'll dominate 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout fight which will be shown live on the streaming platform.
British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to promote next month's heavyweight fight.
Ex two-time world boxing king Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Fighter's Attitude
"I will injure his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, said.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.
"I'm going to seriously aim to injure him. That's my goal."
Civil Exchange
Despite these statements, a calm Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically known for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou rejected a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, criticized British rival Tyson Fury - and refused a ยฃ1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] outshines Fury - he showed up," Joshua said.
"I acknowledge that."
Serious Fighter
In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he said.
Jake Paul's History
Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.
Commercial Success
However, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's largest financial successes, consistently making substantial earnings.
Forecast and Belief
The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in round four or five and stated he would prevent the long-awaited JoshuaโFury fight, which is reportedly in the works for two years from now.
"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.
Size Difference
As the two fighters engaged in the traditional stare-down, with their physical disparity on show, it emphasized just how unlikely this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the bout is really happening.
