The Popular Show Campaign 4 Introduces the Soldiers Table
Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, fresh DM the talented storyteller has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a wide array of heroes, and a thrilling plot including angels, demons, and dark forces increasing in strength within the city.
Warning: Revealing details for the third episode of Campaign 4 lie ahead.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
Episode 3 finished on a dramatic pause and introduced the initial group of adventurers who will separate from the central cast to undertake their independent quest, apart from the additional parties.
The Soldiers table includes Teor (brought to life by Travis), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
Dividing the Cast
Given an extensive roster, it was evident from the start that keeping everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Prelude, connecting the characters’ stories before branching into three smaller tables: Warriors, Strategists, and Seekers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
As described by the DM, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who are drawn to a typically action-packed fight-heavy story mode where diplomatic options are few and far between.
Upon first impression, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might appear unsuited, but the actions of episode 3 show why these particular heroes are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the group has a clear idea where to go next after a brutal initial meeting with the antagonists.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose death kicked off the campaign’s events—manipulated the enemy for his own means, invading the secret base, attacking the character, and taking all the enchanted items to dispose of.
The antagonist then settled his obligations and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, above the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each member has a personal reason to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, desires vengeance.
- Kattigan knows the region and cautions that it is a dangerous environment.
- The warrior and The healer, having defied his house’s orders to eliminate the target and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their status as prominent individuals in House Halovar could enable the group enter places they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, Teor vowed a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his rescue and will now follow him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are hunted by the powers that control the setting for a range of causes, making staying in the city too risky:
- The rogue and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and The healer turned against the influential house and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- Teor is targeted for elimination by the family.
This means them little choice but to journey toward Timmony in quest for Casimir.
Future Episodes
Based on the recent installment’s Cooldown, we discover that the Soldiers table will be absent the following episode, leaving the other eight participants to form the Questers and Schemers tables.
Audiences can expect learning which players will be in which group in the story’s last Overture episode, released on October 24.
